indent

gap Short modules were designed to extend a handful of midyard and endyard modules without exceeding a 48" module length but can be inserted anywhere in a railway configuration as needed. Besides adding routing options, they also allow crossover segments to become a standard segment pair - simplifying segment swaps for a quick layout reconfiguration. The pairings as imagined are shown below:

gap

Marshalling Midyard with Marshalling Midyard Entry

indent
Entry can be placed at either end and/or rotated. Extends the yard and allows allows for car reversal. It also allows incoming trains to avert the yard. Combines for a pairing that isn't a crossover segment.

gap

Shunting Midyard with Shunting Midyard Entry

indent
Entry can be placed at either end and/or rotated. Extends yard operations with additional branching entering or exiting the yard. Combines for a pairing that isn't a crossover segment.

gap

Sorting Midyard with Sorting Midyard Entry

indent
Entry can be placed at either end and/or rotated. Shuffles the yard entry or exit track pairing and combines for a pairing that isn't a crossover segment.

gap

Station Terminus with Station Terminus Entry

indent
Entry can be rotated. Allows the Station Terminus to be reoriented for additional layout variation.

gap

Makeup Endyard with Makeup Endyard Entry

indent
Substantially expands routing options entering and exiting the Makeup Endyard to facilitate collaborative operation.

gap

Staging Endyard with Staging Endyard Entry

indent
Extends the Staging Endyard with multipath routing entering and exiting.
